Our board represents a group of professionals with a long history of involvement with the non-profit sector. They are valued for their expertise, passion, and commitment to charitable and philanthropic work.
John Redlinger, Board President
John grew up in San Diego living in Carlsbad now after returning in 2002 from St. Louis Missouri where he worked for the Anheuser Busch Companies. John is currently a Board member of the Environmental Center of San Diego. He served as an officer on the Board of the California Surf Museum and pro bono as an officer on the board of trustees for the La Jolla Conservancy.
He is a licensed architect in the State of California, with over 40 years in the construction industry as an Architect and later as a corporate project manager working with all phases of complex projects from conception through final completion, ranging from 3 to 190 million dollars.
Seana Hodge, Board Director & Secretary
Seana lives with her husband Bill in the Applegate Valley of Southern Oregon where they raised their 2 sons. The family has owned and operated a manufacturing company in Grants Pass for over 50 years. In her free time she enjoys camping, hiking, reading, entertaining and volunteering with her P.EO. chapter.
Seana has been working or volunteering in public education for more than 30 years. She began in early childhood education then transitioned to grades K-12 as a Speech-Language Pathologist. She currently works for The Josephine County Foundation, a student led non-profit that helps at-risk highschool students earn their diplomas and plan for their futures. She is also currently the coordinator for the Aspire program at Hidden Valley Highschool where she assists students in college and career preparation and coordinates adult volunteer mentors.
Alex Redlinger, Board Director & Treasurer
Alex currently lives in the heart of San Diego. He owns and operates a Fine Gardening business that has been bringing beauty and creativity to outdoor spaces since 2020. Through his business venture, he has found he has a skill for bookkeeping and has completed courses with some of the largest nationally recognized bookkeeping software companies.
Having a sharp eye for detail and a love for organization, Alex brings both beauty and balance to every endeavour. He also volunteers with local native garden initiatives and the local Make-A-Wish Chapter. A big fan of both beach days and mountain hikes, basically anywhere outside is home. Always chasing sunshine, good soil, and a little fresh air.
Dr. Gregor V. Sarkisian, Board Director
Gregor V. Sarkisian, Ph.D., is a Professor of Psychology at Antioch University Los Angeles where he teaches in the Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology program. Over the past twenty years, Dr. Sarkisian has conducted applied research, program evaluation and consulted with for-profit & nonprofit organizations, government organizations and institutions of higher education.
For the past 10 years, Gregor has served multiple roles within the surf therapy sector. He began as a surf therapist and applied researcher where he explored the benefits of surf therapy for at promise youth. In 2020, he served as guest editor and contributor for the first ever special focus issue on surf therapy around the globe in the Global Journal of Community Psychology Practice. Currently he serves as a Board member of the International Surf Therapy Organization (ISTO).
Jeannine Schoenfeld, Board Director
Jeannine Schoenfeld (she/her) serves as the Assistant Director for Business Services for the Oregon Youth Authority. Her academic and professional career spans public health and public policy administration for women, adolescents, and children; enterprise-wide operations, project management and quality improvement; and Oregon state government strategic planning and implementation.
Jeannine holds a Bachelor of Sciences degree in health education from San Francisco State University and a Master of Public Administration degree from Portland State University. Jeannine is all about travel, cooking, learning how to sail, might be re-taking up roller skating this year, and lives in Salem with her husband Bert and Great Pyrenees pup Clifton.
